IBM Joins Decentralized ‘Yellow Pages’ for Blockchain Projects

IBM has joined a decentralized cross-blockchain registry initiative which it states is a Yellow Pages analogue for blockchain initiatives, based on an announcement September 13.

The initiative known as Unbounded Registry will probably be led by blockchain startup HACERA, and is designed to supply “a decentralized means to register, look up, join and transact across a variety of blockchain solutions, built to interoperate with all of today’s distributed ledger technologies.”

The challenge will reportedly handle main points within the subject, together with reserved naming for blockchain initiatives, the discoverability of blockchain networks and functions, and a listing of domain-specific features and providers.

Other members of the registry embrace Intel, Chinese tech big Huawei, Batavia, Hitachi, and the Australian Blockchain Association.

IBM is understood for its openness to the research and utility of blockchain expertise throughout varied fields. Earlier this month, the tech big revealed a Stellar-based “near-real-time” blockchain cost community known as Blockchain World Wire (BWW). The resolution is developed to facilitate worldwide settlements between banks.

In August, IBM and Danish transport and logistics big Maersk collectively launched their world blockchain-enabled transport resolution. The platform is reportedly in a position to monitor essential knowledge about every cargo in a provide chain in actual time, producing a distributed, immutable report on the fly.

In June, IBM iX, the enterprise and tech consulting wing of IBM, in partnership with software program provider Mediaocean, launched a blockchain-powered tracker for digital media transactions to “clean things up” within the media shopping for business.
